Amy Allcroft has created this board game as a socio-political statement about the cost of living crisis. They have adapted the game mechanics of Monopoly to highlight current economic issues. They employ a style of melancholic irony: for example, no property can be owned and the rented houses are made from a material that decays when handled. Throughout their Master’s degree, Amy has explored varying forms of activism within art and has found solace in art forms that gently engage the viewer to contemplate and consider the artist’s political views.
