Beth Stilgoe
MA Fine Art
Beth’s current practice explores a diverse spectrum of concepts, alongside the utilisation of multiple disciplines with one underlying core subject – the horse. Ranging from the experimentation of the material limits of horsehair through film and mask making, to the development of work surrounding the ideas of equine immersion for trauma processing through painting, she utilises various creative mediums, mainly print, painting, and installation, as a form of catharsis.
The work is both a passive and active example of self-representation, combining past trauma and Paracosmic immersion (a form of childhood imaginary play); the work becomes an example of identity exploration and emotional healing, debuting the role of paracosmic immersion as the research methodology of Paracosmology, for idea generation and processing for the very first time.
