When deciding to pursue a MA in Games with the Norwich University of the Arts, I wanted to use the opportunity to expand my creative horizons and touch upon adjacent fields to Games, such as film and animation. Through my Masters Project I found myself rediscovering a keen interest in animation through creating animatics in the format of cinematics for video games.
As a concept artist, my practice is founded on the development and visual interpretation of ideas, by developing skills in VFX and 3D alongside my 2D practice, I have started to build a much broader skillset, which has led me to create a thematic adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s short story Robot Dreams in the form of a animatic short. This short is the first small step on a longer journey in creating work that exists between animation and digital painting.
