MA Communication Design
I do not consider myself a Graphic Designer, Publisher, or marketing professional. Instead, I rather pretentiously refer to myself as a creative. I started my Master’s with the intention of further developing both my illustrative and digital skills, with the intention of building a professional portfolio and skillset. I finished my Master’s having accomplished something far vaguer and fulfilling, a greater understanding of my personal creativity and why I am driven to create.
Every project I set myself throughout the year of studying Communication Design was designed with the intention of not only testing my practical abilities, but also pushing the limits of my creative comfort zone in an attempt to inspire new thoughts and inspirations. As a result, I have illustrated my first comic, published my first Zine and dipped my toes into the discipline of world design, each project testing my existing abilities and forcing me to learn and adapt in a much faster way than before.
I now enter the world of professional design with a drive to continue pushing the limits of my abilities and diversifying my skillset further. I have a new optimism for my creative process, one that was previously subdued by the monotony of isolation and office jobs. Moving forward, I intend to continue this energy at home, working on independent or freelance projects to satiate my endless hunger to create.
