My current work has been obsessed with time. Particularly our attempts as human beings to make sense of vast cosmic mechanisms with simple objects and ways of being. There has been a great sense that my work has been a personal journey of coming to terms with large existential questions, on both a personal and societal level. Whereas my previous occupations as an artist have mainly been concerned with the medium of sound, recently my practice has turned towards expanding my mediums and focusing on my preoccupation with the concept of time.
This year has been an exploration into our understanding of time as both a scientific and emotional entity. How we perceive it, how it governs our lives and how we come to terms with both finality and infinity. My work explores these contradictions. The ability thatĀ containmentĀ has, to beĀ liberatingĀ in the context of existential concepts such as deep time. How can we come to comprehend infinity within our finite lives? How does what we do now affect our future? Is there such a thing as āthe presentā?
