MA Communication Design
I am an ambitious and driven graphic designer based in Norwich. Predominantly, I strive to create vibrant and exciting brand identities, often engaging in design for social change. Bringing bold ideas to life is at the core of my work, crafting designs that have a tangible purpose in capturing an audience’s attention and evoking a reaction. In turn, I implement design as a tool to solve everyday problems and seek to push the boundaries of both form and function. I believe that design should achieve a balance between communicating a message with clarity and shining a new light on the mundane.
Following my recent projects, I am heavily inspired by the Anti-Design movement which matches up with this ambition to reimagine design principles and pursue ideas that are playful and experimental. The process of my practice involves thorough contextual, industrial and audience research in order to inform the approach of the project and develop a solution that breaths longevity. Visual iterations also play a significant part in my process, using both digital and hand rendered techniques to reach the final outcome.
Studying an MA has provided me with the opportunity to further investigate sustainable brand design, whilst maintaining a platform to challenge design conventions. Moving forward, I intend to progress my work by further exploring the development of visual identities and how they can seamlessly communicate a brand’s values and narrative, as well as optimising the impact of the designs I create.
