MA Communication Design
As an independent small business owner, illustrator and outdoor-enthusiast, I have relished the opportunity while completing my MA in Communication Design to focus on important environmental issues and experiment with design methods, skills and processes.
Utilising my illustration and copywriting skills, I have produced design solutions with the modern-day audience in mind and enjoyed applying my critical, research and people-oriented skills developed in my Psychology degree to a design setting. I enjoy highlighting the beauty and charm of the UK, while also celebrating nature and wildlife.
Maintaining an Etsy shop, completing commissions, volunteering for online publications, and working part-time alongside my degree has demonstrated my multi-tasking and time-management capabilities, as well as showcasing the breadth of my talents.
Passion and urgency drive my project work, but positivity remains a constant – I firmly believe in the philosophy that encouraging people in positive ways is much more effective and ethical long-term than using fear or negativity.
Comfortably using traditional illustration methods, Communication Design has pushed me to explore new digital and print-based ways of working and pushed my creativity to a new level. I now feel confident and excited to pursue future projects, hoping to continue nurturing my passions for people, nature and wildlife.
