Molly Rooney
MA Communication Design
Hi, I’m Molly! My current practice centres around using graphic design for positive social impact, on any scale. I strongly believe in the power of communication design to promote the passions of independent ventures and large businesses. I believe that interactions with individuals whose lived experiences differ from my own have allowed my design practice to become more inclusive and empathic.
Having graduated from Nottingham Trent last June with First Class honours, I moved to Norwich with the hopes of becoming a more independent and driven creative through a master’s degree in Communication Design at Norwich University of the Arts. I can wholeheartedly say that my decision to move to Norwich was one of the best I’ve made, not just in terms of my academic career – which has truly blossomed through the wealth of knowledge from industry experts – but also through Norwich’s creative environment.
Throughout my academic endeavours, I have volunteered creatively for various charitable organisations that touch on issues surrounding Mental Health and Gender Equality. My role has involved the challenging task of communicating sensitive topics to new and diverse audiences, through accessible infographics and typography. Volunteering alongside my degree has been a brilliant opportunity to supplement my learning as well as work collaboratively with strategists and activists. After completing my Master’s Degree, I’m thrilled to be entering the creative industry with a wealth of knowledge from industry experts.
