MA Communication Design
After 7 years as colour and materials designer, I’m taking on a new career challenge. MA Communications is the bridge between my previous practice and my new one; using design as a tool to affect change. The projects I’ve undertaken have given me the opportunity to explore this and craft a space for my practice.
My practice is creative consulting. The art I make is inspiring thought. Through insight and creative strategies, I champion change; big or small; finding the right method for companies to embrace authenticity, sustainable initiatives, and community. These methods focus on creativity, communication, and education, creating paths to change and inspiring through design.
I am highly visual when explaining ideas and lean on subconscious methods to communicate stories. Colour continues to be my favourite tool, using visually aesthetic presentations, supported by verbal communication to tell stories in a persuasive way.
My master’s project is the embodiment of my creative manifesto; “We don’t have to change the world; we just have to change our world.” The Circular Directory displays my ability to merge creativity with strategic thinking and business sense.
This is an example of how I can use the power of design to change mindsets and create accessible information. The aim of this project is to create a scalable and adaptable framework as a solution to the roadblocks consumers face with becoming conscious consumers. It is one resource which will tell consumers which companies in their local areas offer goods/services that encourage sustainable practices.
