William is a digital artist living in the UK. His skillset is oriented towards concept art and illustration for entertainment industries.
He has been exploring the use of virtual reality (VR) software as an aid to illustration and concept art workflows. Taking advantage of the perspective, scale, depth, and freedom of movement natural to VR tools to design elements for 2D digital paintings.
As well as having technical relevance, William believes that working in the medium of virtual space supports the practice of mindfulness mainly through the recognition of embodied space. Whilst we work in the immersion of VR, we come in and out of states of flow. Narrowing our focus to the work in front of us.
As we exit these periods of concentration, we notice the (virtual) space around us. Through this process of contraction and expansion of awareness, William sees opportunity for this creative process to become reflective of our deeper nature.
