My art practice investigates the paradox of tangibly representing an intangible through physical art process. I have been considering movement of energy within a void alongside the gestural processes used to translate physical interaction.
Supported by research such as Lacan’s psychoanalytical theory of Objet Petit A regarding the pursuit of desire, methods of artist interaction during process such as Frankenthaler’s soak stain painting techniques and Greenblatt’s Resonance and Wonder theories regarding audience encounter, my practice is a continuously evolving inquisition of the encounters between artist, work and audience.
This body of work approached outcome as a accumulation of process. This process is a result of the encounter between artist and work with the intention of work encountering audience.
